As soon as I received the packages with the kit, I could smell the fresh cut cedar. Materials are solid and the instructions are easy to follow. This is the perfect addition to our inground pool and patio area. Looking forward to many years of enjoying this feature with friends and family!! Pictures to come asap!-Chad C.UPDATE…. finally got it finished. the instructions are pretty straightforward, but this thing is HEAVY. But that’s a good thing. I definitely needed the help of friends just for the lifting the posts in place and the roof sections. We still have some more decorating to finish up, but we love this thing! We’ll be spending lots of time this summer enjoying it near our pool.Final update!! We’ve added curtains and lighting and bluetooth outdoor speakers. This was the hit of our 4th of July party (other than the pool!)

We could not be happier with this pavilion and felt it was a great deal! We did a lot of research before ordering and one could not be built for this price! 10/10 review.

I bought the 20×12 NORWOOD.One of the major features that led me to ths product was the fact that the corrugations in the roof panels run from the peak to the eave, instead of the numerous competing products that have the corrugations running parallel to the roof peak – – incredibly-stupid – designed to HOLD snow rather than shed it.The other major feature was that it is evident from the pictures how attractive, well engineered, and sturdy it is.The kit was delivered in 8 separate cartons, all in the same shipment. Each carton was very-well packaged, very well organized, and individually inventoried. Every structural piece is identified with a number. The fasteners and connectors are packaged in well-labelled plastic bags.It pays BIG dividends to spend the time to unpack all the components (structural, fasteners, connectors) and organize them on flat surfaces before beginning construction (as shown in the pictures).I matched each item with the in-box inventory sheet as well as with the complete inventory in the instruction manual. I was only short a few fasteners, which the company replaced immediately. SUPER.I was VERY impressed with the quality of the kit, the excellent instructions, and the fact that all the hundreds of pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly. AND it pays big dividends to read through the instruction manual a couple of times to get familiar with the assembly process, component organization, and overall layout. THEN follow the instruction manual and the build should go well.As I did the assembly, it was evident how well engineered this structure is – designed and implemented with strength AND stiffness.I assembled it (mostly) myself over the course of about 2 weeks of part-time days. I needed help from a friend to lift the the four completed roof panels into place, but other than that, fundamentally a one-person job.I made one small engineering change: as shown in the picture, there is a diagonal brace added to each of the rear sections. I did that because the concrete pad on which I installed the carport is slanted down at about 2.5 degrees. The instructions are pretty explicit about building the kit with the columns set perfectly vertical. However, if I did that on a slanted surface, there would have been serious alignment problems with the horizontal components and the roof structure. So I built it perpendicular / parallel to the slanted surface, and then, to counteract any collapsing forces caused by a large snowload, I installed those diagonals (paired pressure-treated 2×6’s on each side).{Snowload is a real issue here – one year, a single snowstorm COLLAPSED the roof on my work-van.}

The product was missing 2 H3 parts and 1 H1 part and 2 black end nuts. The assembly was overbearing. And by the time we realized that we were missing parts, the assembly became more horrific. The product should be more user friendly to build. This product has a massive parts list and requires a small group of about 5 people to assist.

We bought three of these Norwood 14 foot by 12 foot to use as carports. I am very happy with the quality and the assembly instructions. I am a lone wolf, I usually take on projects and do things myself. I assembled all 3 of these with no help at all. i did not have too much trouble. I had assumed it would be like giant Ikea furniture. I have experiences in the past of building something , half way through you discover something was backwards and reversed. I really did not want that to happen. That was not my experience with these. They came in 7 flat boxes on a pallet ( very heavy ). They also have the bilt app, which you can download and add the assembly directions. ( good way to see how its done before purchase ) It is very well done and walks you through each detailed step in 3D. Highly recommend it. The kits came with everything predrilled, and I did not have any assembly problems. I would recommend having a 8 foot ladder, a 6 foot ladder and a impact drill. The directions for the roof rafters are a little confusing, however don’t worry about lining up the holes, just bolt through the assembly and move on. I really give the whole product and the quality very high grades.

We built this as a covered patio and it’s looks so pretty. It was very easy to set up and only took us a couple of days to complete it.

Do yourself a favor and get organized before you start assembly. We set up a table with all the hardware and fasteners laid out, and there is a bunch of different fasteners. It’s a great kit, very well designed and built. We had on damaged piece so we called the 800# on the box and it was replaced in a few days no questions asked. Thought it turned out great but then coated it with Thompson’s water seal after it was built and that really made it look great. Download the instructions app, it’s fantastic. Take your time and have plenty of help and you won’t be disappointed.

We absolutely love our Backyard Discovery Norwood Gazebo. The cedar is wonderful and looks great! We were impressed with the labeling of all of the wood and metal pieces as well as the individual packaging that the screws, nut, bolts, etc., came in. They even had several drill bits that were included and definitely needed. The instructions say that it will take 2 people 10 hours to assemble. It was more like 18-20, and there are several steps (joining the two sides together and lifting the roof pieces into place) that require 4-5 people.I highly recommend downloading the Bilt app. It has step by step videos that are much easier to follow than the paper instructions. All in all, we are very pleased with the gazebo and have gotten lots of compliments from the neighbors.

It took three of us the weekend to put it together. The instructions were excellent and easy to follow. Two could probably put it together, however three of us was nice for putting on the roof.

It was a little daunting at first trying to figure out the assembly (lots of packages and hardware to organize). However, once my husband and son got it sorted out they put it together (with a little help from me with the roof) during the weekend – and they had the proper tools. It’s been great keeping the snow and rain off the car, and I love that I can just plug in my EV every day.

We love our new gazebo! Purchased for our pool area. Highly recommend to use professional to assemble unless you are handy in construction. Very heavy! Also check all parts to ensure no damage or missing parts. We had one broken piece and several that had gouges. We were concern that we would not have the replacement parts in time for the following week scheduled assembly date. We call late on a Tuesday afternoon and advised the customer service rep of our upcoming assembly date. She arranged to have the parts department ship overnight once they had all the parts. By Friday we had all the parts! Great customer service! The wood is stained but you should use a sealant to protect from fading! Greatest purchase!

The absolute perfect addition to our backyard. Pictures do not do this Gazebo justice! It took my husband and I, a total of about 8 -10 hours to put together. Getting started is the hardest part. The amount of hardware was a little overwhelming but once we got started we didn’t want to stop. A third person would be helpful when installing the roof. You must build each side in its entirety and then lift to attach to the top. It was a little difficult for just my husband and I, but we managed. I would recommend to anyone on the fence about purchasing! The quality is amazing and the stained cedar is beautiful.

Delivery was spot on! I worked putting all the pieces together after work and on a Saturday, I had a buddy come over to help with the roof panels. One person can assemble all three gables and the four roof panels by themselves.I positioned the gazebo where the back of it was right up against the gutter of the house and the side tucked underneath my existing patio. I will add a gutter on the patio side, and it should be pretty much dried in coming from the house. One of the big selling points and reason why I purchased from Backyard Discovery is the rafters and braces are made out of wood. If a big hailstorm hits, I should only have to replace damaged roof panels. Other manufactures say their gazebos are 100% wood, but the rafters and braces are made out of the flimsy metal. If you are wondering about the patio, those are 2x2ft peel and stick carpet squares.

Two parts were missing and called customer service and they said they will ship out right away and we should have within 3 to 4 days. Amazing customer service. Product takes a little bit to put together. But easy enough to do in intervals with my husband and daughter and I. Would highly recommend.

This gazebo turned a plain slab of concrete to a backyard oasis. It is easy to assemble, provides great shade, and looks fantastic. We hung a light fixture over the outdoor table and some heaters in the corners so we can enjoy the gazebo most of the year. I would highly recommend this product.

Our porch was so hot in the summer we couldn’t enjoy it till now! It is at least 20 degrees cooler under our new pergola. All solid wood and beautiful, nothing but good compliments on it. We did have to hire a contractor to put it up but well worth it! We love it.

The 10 x 10 Norwood Gazebo is a luxurious addition to our backyard. The assembly process was quite easy from the numbered boxes to the organized directions. The beautiful Cedar wood and insulated steel roof provide a sturdy structure for family gatherings. After researching many Gazebos for quality and price, the Norwood Gazebo surpassed our expectations. In my opinion, from the easy assembly to the quality and beauty of the Norwood Gazebo it would hard to find a better value.

I was amazed at how nice this gazebo is for the price! I purchased this for a vacation rental cabin to provide guests with a covered pavilion while barbecuing or hanging out near the fire pit. I did not assemble it but paid a friend and his brother to erect it but it went up pretty fast. I had my electrician run power to it, so it has a ceiling fan with light as well as stringed lights making it a wonderful place to spend time outside. The only thing that I think could be better is a GFCI or outdoor power panel. My electrician removed it and installed one that is outdoor safe.

Looks great as an Outdoor Kitchen pavilion. Finish of materials is very good, will have to see about durability. Design of posts allowed recessed installation of light switches and outlets. Added 4×4 across trusses for fan/light installation and it looks awesome at night.
Living by the Beach –
We built a beach home in a warm climate and researched high and low for a multi-purpose gazebo for our side yard. The Norwood is well-constructed and we get compliments on how attractive it is. We plan to use it for many reasons all year round- seating space for outdoor dining, shade for lounging by our pool, storage space for jet skis and/or a boat, and extra covered parking serving as a carport when our kids visit. The outlets are a bonus for hanging lights and creating a festive outdoor experience. So pleased with our purchase!
