All lumber is pre-stained for a smooth and clear appearance, as well as cut and stamped with the part number to help speed up the building process. Some pilot-hole drilling may be required.

Was not very happy with this purchase. Had to go buy a board and make it to fit because the correct board was missing. I did not want to return it being it was so heavy and we had already put a lot of it together.

Bought it for our Grandkids. Couple bolts got cross threaded. Called customer service told them what I needed and in two days replacement was delivered. Highly recommend Backyard Discovery.

Fun for probably 2-5 year olds. Not very big. A few boards came cracked and i think the quality of wood is not great.

This swing set is one of the best examples of quality and workmanship that I’ve seen in years. My wife and I ordered this for our granddaughter for Easter. We read all the reviews and felt this was a good quality unit for the price. We also read all the reviews about assembling it and were a little nervous about the instructions, all the pieces fitting properly and having the right hardware. Were we ever surprised! We followed the directions to the T, layed out all the hardware bags in numerical order and then starting piecing it together. Every single piece fit like a glove! All the holes were perfectly positioned and fit tight and secure and ALL the hardware was there! Even had extras of most!!We worked on it for about 3 evenings and had about 6-7 hours in it total. If we had to do a 2nd unit I’m secure we could assemble it in 1/2 that time. This was really an amazing example of quality workmanship and design. We could not have been more impressed. This unit is made in China but the manual says “Manufactured by Backyard Discovery in Pittsburg KS.” We’re big “BUY USA” folks but whoever designed this playset gets a huge “kudos” from these grandparents in Idaho. This is a great product & our granddaughter loved it!

We got this for my daughter’s birthday. Putting it together wasn’t terrible, but I did have a couple of boards that weren’t properly pre-drilled, so I had to redrill them. Putting the slide together was the toughest part and I honestly don’t know if I put it right side up or not (both sides look and feel pretty similar). But for a two year old it works great!

We love it! It wasn’t terrible to assemble and we liked how it came with an app to help with assembly. The trickiest part were the stakes! One reason why I couldn’t give this 5 stars is because the wood is not sealed to protect it against rain, sprinklers, water fights, or anything water related. Easy fix with a trip to Home Depot! The other reason is because the slide frequently comes apart at the bottom of the slide. We haven’t found a fix yet for this, but if anyone has any suggestions or has found a fix, I’d love to hear them! Overall great price for a sturdy product that our little one loves!

This is a great swing playhouse kit for my three year old grand. But be warned. This kit contains 648 component pieces. If you are just one person it will take several afternoons to complete. But the finished product is worth the time. This kit contains extra bolts and screws in case you lose some. I have included photos of the addition that I added on to this kit. Because this is all wood you can get as creative as you like. If look close at my can of stain you will see the color that you will need for almost an exact match.

Once built this little swing set is perfect for my 3yr old and 1yr old to enjoy many hours of fun in our own yard, but I do feel it has some quality issues that led to a longer-than-needed assembly time. I will note, on assembly time, that my husband was able to assemble this himself with a little help from my father to hold up some pieces when needed and it took around 10 hrs total with the hurdles he encountered.I started my perception of this swing set with a 5 star rating in mind (as I do for any product) and as each issue arose that contributed to my overall decision to decrease star rating accordingly. I will note each problem in a numbered list.1. When assembling the “rockwall” ladder 3 of the board’s ended up splitting nearly half of the length when the climbers were screwed on. This wasn’t due to over -tightening as it happened almost as soon as the screw began to twist in.2. On the A-frame the holes were not bored out enough for the bolt to reach all the way through at the top joint. This resulted in the need to purchase a set of “paddle” drill bits to finish boring the hole to a point that the bolt could reach through.3. There were many holes that were undersized or not lined up properly, resulting in the need to re-drill them.4. The written directions aren’t 100% sequential, resulting in completing an assembly to only find out you had to unassembled a piece of it to insert something else later on down the line.5. Several of the boards themselves, such as those used for the floor of the tower, are rougher than I would expect them to be and required additional sanding to prevent kids getting splinters.6. This one is absolutely minor, but the “chalkboard” is nothing more than a piece of rigid plastic. There is no actual chalkboard surface to it. Again, this was the smallest issue to me, but I do believe it merits being mentioned. When completed this is sturdy enough for a few small children to play on at a time, and I’m sure will hold upnto the elements well enough until we need to upgrade to a bigger set in a few years. So, overall I’m satisfied, and I’m sure some of our problems would be experienced with any set, but I did want to note our experience to help other potential buyers.

Excellent quality well thought out directions the only thing that would make me happier is if they sold a toddler swing accessory.

The babies just had their first birthday. We put Little Tykes swings on the set til they grow a bit.My son put it together by himself. So, no help needed.

I was able to assemble the whole thing by myself, and I’m pregnant. It took me half a day, but did it alone. Having a good drill helps. My 2 year old loves it. It does move a little if we swing her too high (which she loves). But besides that, it is quite sturdy.

My dad and husband put this swing set together in record time considering the many beer breaks that were taken building this. It took about 6 hours all together. Probably could do it in 4 if you’re super motivated and you take no breaks lol. Easy to put together, and simple instructions. The guys did say that sometimes the diagrams on the instructions were confusing but it was mostly easy. My two year old son loves it. Not sure if I would recommend for bigger kids.

Decided to order this for my 5 y.o Daughter. I caught this on sale on Prime Day for a little under $300. The instructions were pretty okay/pretty clear… but definitely do yourself the favor by reading thoroughly through the entire booklet FIRST. Otherwise, you’ll later notice that the instructions kind of take you in circles a bit. Took my Husband & I quite a bit to build… mostly because we kind of started late & had to keep stopping at times in between. Because the heat has been so bad in our location.. we decided to build it in sections in our garage first, starting with the fort which is also the most tedious.. and then we later combined all of the completed sections together. One thing the company could and SHOULD do– is have the T-Locks already ready & installed into the wooden boards that’ll need them. It would save SO much time, etc. It came nicely packed… so nicely packed that I hardly thought a slide was actually in the box, lol. My only complaint is that there were a couple of pieces of wood that were a bit questionable.. but wasn’t anything really major. We did spray the entire set down with a sealant once completed to make the wood waterproof.. considering the wood is untreated. Overall, my 5 y.o Daughter is extremely happy with it. It seems to be a really sturdy set. Especially with my Husband & I also adding “U Anchors” onto it. I’m hoping for it to last for atleast a good 3 years… so, we’ll see.

Ok, I looked at this swing set for months before actually buying it. I really struggled with the decision. I bought this for our kids 2nd birthday thinking it would be a swing set he would use for many years. I’m not sure that’s possible. It’s smaller than i expected (which had I known my measurements better, I wouldn’t have been so surprised). It took my husband and dad 3 hours to put together (they are knowledgeable with this kind of stuff so it could take longer for those who are not). When they were putting it together, they screwed a step to the base as instructed and the step cracked right in the middle next to the rock step. It’s a light wood (in color and weight) and perfect for smaller children. We had many kids come play on it and I think the maximum age for this swing set is roughly 7. They were swinging and I could see the legs coming off the ground. We will have to teether it down (which I believe it did come with some, we just weren’t sure where it was going to stay). It is also nice it came with extra netting! All in all, it works and he will get a few years good play out of it. My main reason for taking a star is the wood cracking.

A little tricky to assemble and took quite a while to arrive after purchase due to needing special delivery due to weight, but it’s a perfect swing set for my toddler who loves to swing and climb!

This swing set is great for my 3 year old. It’s small but does the job for one kid. I’m not sure how sturdy it will be over time as the kiddo gets bigger or if there were more kids. It creaks when you swing on it, even just the kid. It took 2 people over 7 hours to assemble (could have been the people) and it’s not easy to anchor into the ground (could be the ground). The delivery was terrible because they were 4 hours late and we had someone lined up to help so don’t be in a time crunch. Overall though, it’s great for the price.

Just put together the swing set (took my husband and I around 4-5 hrs). My 3 yr old seems to like it a lot, especially the chaulk board. Good value for what you’re paying and the size is perfect for her. Seems sturdy enough.

Our 2 year old is LOVING this. We swapped the swings for Little Tikes swings, and will have to coat the set when we do our fence again. We also reinforced the climbing structure with some extra wood screws. However, we are very excited for the fun this will bring over the next few years. It’s a great temporary (as in a few years) set of appropriate size and height for a toddler and young kid.

I bought this for my grandson and it’s pretty nice…lots of fun features. The inventory of parts was perfect. It was easy to construct in a day and the fitment of all the parts was very good. In fact, this whole thing is very well engineered. We also bought the bucket type seats to use until he is older. I was also impressed with the few spare pieces of extra hardware. On the negative side, the quality of some of the wood is poor. We had a couple pieces that were cracked/split that needed some exterior wood glue and clamping. Likewise, some of the wood was dense and made the structure solid while other pieces were quite soft and we had to be very careful to not strip screws or crush these pieces as we tightened the fasteners. The anchors were difficult to install and were definitely a struggle to get into the NC soil. Not sure what else would have worked better.

Good set for toddlers and young children. Pay attention to the dimensions before you buy. This is good for toddlers up to about 5-6yo. Not hard to put together but very time consuming. There is a bit of drilling involved and aome of the pilot holes didnt match up. Took me most part of a day to complete by myslef. Probably wouldnt take that long with two people.

The wood is soft so we don’t expect it to last but maybe a couple of years but it’s perfect for my 2 and 3 year old right now. There was a one broken board, I haven’t reached out to the company yet. It took my 9.5 hours to build by myself (my husband was away for work and I was too impatient to wait for him) I had to stop several times to tend to the babies otherwise it wouldn’t have taken me that long. The point is if I can build this by myself anyone can. Worth the money.

Bought this on sale and it’s so worth it. It took a while to setup, I was able to set it up myself without my husband’s help. You’ll need an impact and drill to set it up. Took me two days with my mom helping watch my toddler and infant but I was able to set it up without any help at all. Wood seems a bit flimsy but I was able to climb on it to finish putting it together(150lbs). Instructions were great. One broken part on arrival, plan on contacting the company to try and get that one board replaced. My toddler loves it!!!

It didn’t come with all the screws but they said it was a manufacturer issue, not a seller issue (we just went to lowes and got some to make it work lol). It’s smaller than we expected, however that’s not a big deal for us. It’s perfect size for my guy. We didnt put the swings it came with on it, because my guy is too small for those. But overall, we love this swingset and would order it again! 5/5 stars!

Use the App! I can not stress enough to use the App! The App made the job very easy. The App rotates 360 degrees so you can see the alignment of all parts. With the help of the App and my son-in-law, we were able to put the swing set together on a Saturday afternoon in only four (4) hours on the patio (while watching the University of Oklahoma Football game). The swing set is very sturdy and VERY pleased with the final result. My 2-year old grandson was playing on it before we had it completely put together, he loves it!We changed out the swings with the Little Tikes Snug ‘n Secure Blue Swings with adjustable straps for safety since grandson is only 2 years old.The key to putting the swing set together is the App, but make sure you have the recommended required tools. This swing set gets five stars for sure! It is the perfect size for a smaller yard and looks very nice. So sturdy and the price is very reasonable. Do not hesitate to purchase!

I couldn’t be more pleased with the purchase of this swing set!!! As long as you have people to help with assembly, I say BUY IT NOW while it’s still in stock! It was by far the best quality one for the money and I spent hours and hours searching online.INSTALLATION: it took 4 of us around 6 hours total (including cleanup) to built the swing set and we worked right along, organized everything quickly, with multiple drills and no hang-ups so I’m not sure the 4 hour thing is realistic unless you’re used to building swing sets as a job. That being said – laying out the wood on tarps organized by letter and the bags of hardware in numerical order (you can just use the lid of the small box) was really helpful so we could quickly locate parts and not get frustrated. They recommend screwing the base piece of wood on the slide before you put the slide together – this didn’t make much sense to us so we pieced it together, then drilled and it went super fast and required no extra measuring/guesswork.ENJOYMENT LEVEL: Our 3 year old LOVES this!! The chalkboard is excellent – the chalk (not included) shows up so well on the plastic board – all chalkboards should be made out of this stuff lol. The rock wall is so cute and easy for young climbers to learn on and there’s plenty of space to hang out in the tower or underneath it. We added a pirate wheel and a play telescope and he enjoys both of those aspects but they are definitely not necessary.SAFETY: As a parent, my favorite thing is that this isn’t a humungous swing set so I’m not worried about him climbing up alone into the tower or being in the tower even if we are in another part of the yard or watching through the sliding door – I feel safe with it being closer to the ground than some of the larger, more expensive ones. The slide also isn’t too huge so I’m not worried about him falling off of it. The fort in general is very well enclosed with the wood bars and mesh on the sides. I REALLY like that for his age, the fact that there is only one side that’s really open of the fort so there’s no accidental falls out of it backwards or anything. I’m 5’4″ and weigh 135lbs and can swing on it (it does sway and the wood makes noises more with me, but it supports me just fine!) and I also can fit up in the little fort with him. The slide is narrow so I cannot fit down that but the sturdiness of the entire set is great and we are very pleased with it! My dad weighs just under 200lbs and also could sit on the swing – he didn’t really swing – just sat – but it didn’t have a problem holding his weight.EXTRA: We also added cute little solar deck lights to the side and the top and they worked out really nicely. Here’s the link to those https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J51VBHD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This playset is a huge bonus for my son! He absolutely loves to play outside. I added a chair swing until he’s old enough for the regular swing. I will be switching out the other swing for a saucer soon.As far as putting together, it took me about 7 hours over 2 days with frequent breaks. I’m pretty handy and loved that they included a drill bit for those hand screws. Made the job way easier. There were several pieces, screws, and bolts. The instructions were straight forward with a little confusion on a few things.I removed a star because some of the holes didn’t match up and a few of the cedar wood pieces had cracks. All in all, I would recommend this for your backyard.

Recently purchased and built this Backyard Discovery set and came away impressed with several aspects of this well crafted set.First of all, though, this is a small set that is perfect for my 3 & 1.5-yr olds, but I can’t imagine 8-10 yr olds playing on this. What I appreciate about this set is that 1) it’s well designed with plenty of support braces/brackets; 2) the bolts and hardware are sturdy metal and not flimsy (not one of the litany of screws/bolts/washers broke upon install; 3) it’s made from cedar wood, which is naturally insect/rot resistant as opposed to other sets made of pine; and 4) although a few items were missing, I called the company and they mailed replacements same-day with zero hassle.

My two year old loves his new “park!” Its a very cute set, It’s great for a small backyard and not too high or scary for little kiddos to navigate. This is a great size play set for toddlers and preschoolers, it’s probably a bit too small for elementary age kids though. There’s a QR code that you can scan that will show step-by-step digital instructions, this was super helpful during the building process. Beware though, this swing-set takes some time to put together (about 8 hours total one person doing it, but obviously would be a faster process if you have more help). It seems sturdy and I’m hopeful that we will get a few years out of it!

Overall, not a bad set for the money. One of the legs, for the A-frame, was warped and a few of the pilot holes weren’t quite aligned, but hey. I was able to assemble it, solo, in about 12 hours – I advise against this however and suggest grabbing a friend. Also, be very careful if you choose to use a drill/driver, as the cedar is very soft. As for the durability or sturdiness, I’d say it’s fine for what it is; I weigh 195lbs and was able to climb the fort portion and even swung from both swings for a bit.
